Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders reportedly won’t be at the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay next week.
Per ESPN, the NFL listed 18 confirmed players for the 2025 NFL Draft, which runs from April 24-26. The list includes Miami’s Cam Ward, Shedeur’s teammate Travis Hunter, Penn State’s Abdul Carter, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty.
But the 23-year-old Shedeur Sanders, the consensus No. 2 quarterback in this year’s class behind Ward, will not be at the legendary Lambeau Field for the festivities. So make of that however you wish.
Interestingly, it was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Sanders will have a private workout for the New York Giants in Boulder on Thursday. The Giants hold the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, behind the Cleveland Browns (No. 2) and Tennessee Titans (No. 1).
After two successful seasons at Jackson State under the leadership of his father and head coach, Deion Sanders, Shedeur took his talents to Boulder in 2023. Together, Shedeur and “Coach Prime” made Colorado one of the nation’s most widely-followed teams.
In his final season with the Buffaloes, Shedeur Sanders threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. The year before, Sanders threw for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and only three interceptions.

The Giants are obviously strongly considering Sanders with the No. 3 pick if they’re meeting him for a private workout. But the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 6 pick) and New Orleans Saints (No. 9) are also realistic landing spots for Sanders.
Las Vegas just acquired and extended Geno Smith, but he’s also about to enter his age-35 season. The Saints could eye a succession plan to Derek Carr, whose 2025 season is in jeopardy with a shoulder injury.
Don’t be surprised if the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams look at Sanders, too.
