The Canucks season may be over, but that doesn’t mean everyone is going home empty handed, as Quinn Hughes has just won ‘Most Exciting Player’ award.

Quinn Hughes was selected as the recipient of the Vancouver Canucks’ Pavel Bure Most Exciting Player Award for the 2024-25 season, a first for both him and the franchise. He won a total of six team awards.

Hughes is the first defenseman to ever capture this team award

This sets Hughes apart as the first defenceman in franchise history to capture the award, which goes every year to the player who generates the most excitement and buzz among the fans season after season.
With this achievement, Hughes is added to an elite group of past winners that includes Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat, Tony Tanti, and Roberto Luongo.
During the campaign, regardless of the team’s overall performance, Hughes nightly played dazzling hockey. His otherworldly skating ability, combined with phenomenal vision and pinpoint passing accuracy, made him a nightly sensation.
Whether racing the puck out of the zone or threading the needle with a cross-ice pass, Hughes regularly created jaw-dropping plays that lit up highlight reels and thrilled fans.
He demonstrated an unmatched ability to control the pace of the game and break down defensive systems with ease.
Even having missed 14 games this year, Hughes was still the leading-scoring Canucks player.
Prior to Wednesday night’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights, he had notched 60 assists and 76 points overall, which is what he finished the season with.
He also equaled Alex Edler on a franchise record for career points by a defenceman and tied Henrik Sedin as one of only two Canucks players to have at least four seasons with 60 assists.
