The Maple Leafs goaltender was missing from practice on Monday after Game 1.

The Toronto Maple Leafs fanbase got a bit of a scare this morning.

On Monday morning the Maple Leafs hit the ice for a morning skate but notably absent from that skate was starting goaltender Anthony Stolarz. Stolarz is fresh off of a dominating performance in Game 1 of the Maple Leafs opening round playoff series against the Ottawa Senators, one that saw him stop 31 of the 33 pucks shot in his direction for a .939 save percentage.

Of course this raised concerns about whether or not Stolarz, who has missed time due to injury this season, would be available for the next game in this series. Those concerns were no doubt heightened by the fact that Stolarz was involved in a pretty nasty collision on Sunday night, one that occurred after Senators forward Ridly Greig crashed the net. Greig would go flying into Stolarz and caused his leg to get slammed against the post, but thankfully it seems Stolarz is not dealing with an injury.

Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube assuaged any fears fans might of had following the team’s morning skate, informing reporters that Stolarz’s absence was all part of the plan.

“Just rest,” said Berube to reporters on Monday. “He’s all good.”
