Anthony Stolarz got into it with Ridly Greig in games 1 and 2 and it led to some discourse about whether or not the goalie should be punished.
In Game 3, Nick Cousins was shooting pucks at Stolarz in the warmup and it ultimately resulted in a fine to both Cousins and the Senators organization.
Stolarz continues to be the story and with Game 4 tonight, the Maple Leafs had to make a decision regarding their starting goalie.
Unsurprisingly, the Maple Leafs are going with Anthony Stolarz tonight as he has a goals-against average of 1.95 and a save percentage of .926 in this series.
The Leafs just need one more win to finish out the series and Stolarz is the best guy to get the job done. He is clearly in the head of the Senators.
The Senators are doing everything they possibly can to shake him and rattle his confidence, but it isn’t working. Instead, the opposite has been happening.
It just goes to show that Stolarz is the right goaltender to go with in the postseason and that he is ready for any challenge that might be thrown his way.
Game 4 is set to go down tonight at 7 PM EST and the Senators are going to be motivated to have a good game considering they are on the verge of elimination.
The Toronto Maple Leafs could become the first team to punch their ticket to the second round, which would be huge for this franchise.
The playoffs have been a lot of fun and we cannot wait to see what happens next for this team, which is playing its best hockey of the season so far.
