Chase Daniel isn’t ready to call the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts a top 5 quarterback even after reaching multiple Super Bowls and winning one.

What does Jalen Hurts have to do to get Chase Daniel’s approval? Not that he’s probably looking for it, but even winning the Super Bowl doesn’t make him a top 5 quarterback, so what’s left?
The former Commanders, Saints, and Chiefs QB turned NFL analyst, during a recent segment of FS1’s The Facility, claimed that Jalen Hurts is not a top 5 quarterback. The 26-year-old didn’t even crack the top 7.
There are only four [quarterbacks] right now that I would take to start a franchise with, quite honestly… Let me rephrase that. There are more than four guys that I would take above Jalen Hurts to start a franchise today.
Chase Daniel declared
Shady’s (LeSean McCoy) reaction pictured the atmosphere inside the FOX Studio perfectly. Hurts just stopped the Kansas City Chiefs team from a three-peat. The same Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, defeated the Philadelphia Eagles two years earlier.
It doesn’t matter. In Daniel’s book, Jalen Hurts is not a top 5 quarterback.
I don’t want to start a [NFL] franchise with Jalen Hurts. He might be 8, 9, or 10 on that list [maybe more]… If I want to start a franchise today and build a team around him, Jalen Hurts is not in the top 9 or 10 of those guys.
Chase Daniel added
Playing to the player’s strength is the smartest tactic from a coach. Nick Sirianni and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore (now Saints’ head coach) used Hurts’ monstrous strength successfully almost every time the team required a one- or two-yard down or a touchdown. Hurts collected 14 TDs by using their original ‘tush push’ or the ‘brotherly shove.’
