Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have landed a big-named player to bolster their offense in 2025.
The Buffaloes have already lost star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way phenom Travis Hunter, who are entering the NFL Draft. But Colorado’s new-look offense got one big boost via the transfer portal.
Per On3.com, former Memphis offensive lineman Xavier Hill announced that he has committed to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes football program. Hill was a First-Team All-AAC selection in 2023.
Hill joined the defending national champion LSU Tigers’ program in 2020, appearing in one game as a freshman. The 6-foot-4, 318-pound lineman appeared in five games over the next two seasons before transferring to Memphis, suiting up in 26 games over his two years there.
He can only improve a lousy Colorado offensive line that allowed 94 total sacks on Shedeur Sanders over the 2023 and 2024 seasons, including 52 alone in 2023. Shedeur and Hunter may be gone, but getting an upgrade on the o-line here is an early win for Deion Sanders.

Two weeks ago, the Buffaloes handed Deion Sanders a lucrative five-year contract extension worth a whopping $54 million. It was a significant raise from the first deal he signed in 2022, a five-year deal worth $29.5 million.
After Colorado went 4-8 in his first season at the helm, “Coach Prime” led the school to an impressive 9-4 finish in 2024. Their season ended with a loss to BYU in the Alamo Bowl.
