Tech mogul Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, this week announced his newest project: the construction of a luxury mobile casino hotel on Mars.

The entrepreneur announced that the project would be developed under his Tesla brand and that its name would be Tesla Mobile Hotel Resort. The purpose of the hotel, designed by Chinese artist Loongt, is to tour the red planet offering a wide variety of entertainment.

According to reports, the hotel would be divided into entertainment zones, including a luxury casino, gyms and a revolving restaurant, as well as a large dome overlooking the central skyline and a lounge area with “unique views of Mars”. The hotel would also have rotating vehicles that would allow air and land tours.

The resort would start its tourist route in a meteorite crater and then depart for the most remarkable places on the planet. According to Muy Interesante, the spacecraft could make excursions, for example, to Mount Olympus, the highest mountain on Mars, and spend the night on top of it.

Musk recently stated that he hopes to start taking humans to Mars within the next decade. “The best-case scenario is about five years; the worst-case scenario is 10 years,” the entrepreneur said in an episode of Lex Fridman’s podcast.
