According to reports from Spain, Real Madrid are “making a bid to sign” Alexis Mac Allister although Liverpool will not entertain any talks of a bid.
The former Brighton midfielder was sensational for Liverpool last season, scoring a number of important goals to win title for the Reds in Arne Slot’s first year as Anfield boss.
So, it’s not surprising to hear reports of interest in Mac Allister from the likes of Madrid.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid have set their sights on Mac Allister as a long term replacement for Luka Modric.
The report does state, however: “For now, Mac Allister has appeared comfortable at Liverpool and hasn’t given any clear signs of wanting to leave. His father and agent have also backed this stance, stating that the player is happy in England.”
Yet, Real Madrid are not the type of club to give up easily on a player they want. They could reportedly include someone like Arda Guler in the deal but it doesn’t seem as though there is an offer in the works worthy of concern.

Whether or not Real Madrid make a mammoth bid or not for Mac Allister, the brilliant Argentine magician is not for sale.
I mean, how many teams can say they have a player like Macca? Someone who can dictate the tempo of play, disrupt passing lanes, hassle and disposses dribblers all while contributing five goals and five assists?
He was a key player in a World Cup-winning campaign and scored the goal in the final. Players like Mac Allister simply don’t come around all that often and he should be treated as such.
North of £120m in my opinion.
The 26-year-old has three years left on his contract and has shown zero desire to leave and Liverpool should capitalise on that.

Alexis Mac Allister is under contract with Liverpool FC until June 2028 but in an era where the club lost Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free to Madrid and could lose Konate to the Spanish side under the same conditions next year, it’s worth asking the question.
The only defence mechanism Liverpool and other big club have in this kind of situation is to double down on efforts to extend and renew terms for current superstars.
Mac Allister is officially one of Liverpool’s “unsellables” after last season. He’s not just world class – he’s potentially the best in the world in his position if he can continue demonstrating his ridiculously consistent elite abilities.
The sooner Liverpool turn their attention to their long-term plans for Mac Allister the better.
