Liverpool are getting ready for a massive summer transfer window which will likely see them spend big money to inject even more quality into the already gifted squad available to Arne Slot.

As you would expect, Liverpool are casting a very wide net in their search for the perfect squad additions as they get set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid this summer.

While many fans have been understandably anxious about also losing Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to free transfers, a new bombshell update from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has breathed new life into hopes of the duo staying at Anfield.

Liverpool are sure to safeguard the immediate future of the squad with key signings this summer but they will also be likely to make an addition or two with a more long-term view in mind.

This has led them to 17-year-old River Plate star Franco Mastantuono whom Rising Ballers have described as “one of the most special talents in the world” with particular praise being dolled out for his ability to beat a man – they said: “his ability in 1v1s is insane”.

Liverpool stepping up interest in Franco Mastantuono with reasonable release clause

According to El Crack Deportivo, Liverpool have ramped up their interest in Mastantuono, who has a €25 million (£20 million) release clause written into his contract.

South American clubs often rely on selling top talent to European clubs and so there will likely be no room for negotiation.

This is a good thing if Liverpool believe his release clause is a fair representation of his value as it means it would be relatively straightforward to bring him to the Premier League.

Holding the record for being the youngest goalscorer in River Plate history (16 years, 177 days), it’s clear that the teenager is making a name for himself. Transfermarkt have even compared him to Phil Foden based on their similar style of play.

Both players are left-foot dominant and rely heavily on their strong foot to create space. As we’ve seen with Mohamed Salah, this isn’t always a bad thing but in the Premier League where space is limited, he will need to brush up on his weak foot as Foden has found necessary.
