Diaz, who turned 28 in January, enjoyed his best individual season yet for the Reds, scoring 17 goals in all competitions as they ran away with the Premier League title after a five-year hiatus from winning England’s biggest trophy. But a breakdown in contract talks could open the door for other Champions League clubs to make a move – and their asking price has been revealed in what could be a whirlwind summer at Anfield with Darwin Nunez also expected to leave.
Report: Luis Diaz Asking Price Could be £69million Ahead of Move
The Colombian star has been in fine form for the Reds, but he may still exit
The report by Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri states that although Diaz is an ‘integral part’ of Arne Slot’s plans, and a ‘key element’ of his side, Diaz believes that he isn’t being paid fairly for what he brings to the club.
The Reds are aware that Diaz may not perform as well on the pitch if he’s not mentally ready in a financial sense, whilst Bayern Munich may also be in the race to sign him, having offered Diaz double the salary that he is currently earning on Merseyside – with earlier reports stating that the Colombian has ‘agreed terms’ with the Bundesliga champions.
Liverpool believe that of the interested duo, only Bayern can afford the £69million fee, and in the process of uncertainty by the Colombian winger, they could offer him suitable terms to put an end to any paper talk once and for all.
