Personnel of BRP Lolinato To-Ong find black bags containing suspected marijuana off the vicinity of Escoda (Sabina) Shoal in West Philippine Sea
Authorities on Tuesday said they found suspected illegal drugs floating off the vicinity of Escoda (Sabina) Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.
Personnel of BRP Lolinato To-Ong found a floating black bag “containing unidentified packages believed to be high-grade marijuana” in the vicinity of the shoal on Oct. 18, the Philippine Navy’s Western Naval Command said.
The navy personnel then turned over the illicit items to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Palawan at Puerto Princesa City on Monday.
“Western Naval Command continues to support inter-agency efforts in combating illegal drug trafficking and ensuring that the West Philippine Sea remains safe, secure, and free from unlawful activities,” it said in a statement.
