Over the last several weeks the Canucks have been ravaged by injuries to star players including Elias Pettersson.
With the Canucks now officially eliminated from Stanley Cup Playoff contention head coach Rick Tocchet was able to provide clearer updates on injuries to several key players including Pettersson.
Pettersson in particular has been in and out of the lineup throughout the back half of the season due to injury and has missed the last several games with his long-term prognosis unknown.
According to the latest press conference with Tocchet, Pettersson will need to be shut down for the remainder of the 2024-25 season due to the injury he sustained.
On top of the difficult news regarding Pettersson there also was disappointing news when it comes to Filip Chytil as well.
Tocchet confirms that Chytil is still struggling to stay symptom free from the latest concussion he suffered earlier this season.
All of this news continues a frustrating end to a miserable season for the Canucks that has fallen way short of the lofty expectations of the summer.
Once the season officially ends Patrik Allvin and the front office will have several major decisions to make regarding the direction of the team.
As more updates are provided on the injuries to the core pieces of the Vancouver Canucks and the team’s offseason plans we will pass along the latest news and updates.
